Cancellation and refund rules

  1. Cancellation Charges for Confirmed Tickets:

    • If you cancel a confirmed ticket online more than 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the train, the following minimum per passenger cancellation charges apply:
      • Executive Class (EC): ₹240 + GST
      • AC Chair Car (CC): ₹180 + GST
      • AC Tier-II (2A): ₹240 + GST
      • AC Tier-III (3A): ₹180 + GST
      • Sleeper Class (SL): ₹120 + GST
      • II Class(Sitting) (2S): ₹60 + GST
    • If you cancel a confirmed ticket online between 48 hours and up to 12 hours before the scheduled departure, the cancellation charges will be 25% of the fare (subject to the minimum cancellation charge mentioned above) plus GST for all AC classes.
    • For cancellations within 12 hours and up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure, the charges are 50% of the fare (subject to the minimum cancellation charge) plus GST for all AC classes.
    • No refund is admissible for confirmed tickets if not cancelled online or if a TDR (Ticket Deposit Receipt) is not filed online up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure
  2. Cancellation Charges for Waitlisted Tickets:

    • If you cancel a wait-listed ticket online up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure, the refund of fare will be made after deducting a cancellation charge of ₹20 + GST per passenger. However, if all passengers on a ticket remain on the waiting list after the first charting, there’s no need to cancel such tickets. They will be automatically cancelled by the system, and a full refund will be credited back without any deduction
  3. Charges for Partially Confirmed Tickets:

    • In the case of a party e-ticket or a family e-ticket issued for travel of more than one passenger, where some passengers have confirmed reservations and others are on the waiting list:
      • Full refund of fare (less cancellation charge of ₹20 + GST per passenger) will be admissible for confirmed passengers if the ticket is cancelled online or if an online TDR is filed for all passengers up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure.
      • If the waiting list passengers remain after the first charting, a full refund without any deduction will be admissible for confirmed passengers, provided the ticket is cancelled online or an online TDR is filed for all passengers after the first charting and up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure of the train
